Skype is one of the best VoIP services in the world, with millions of users world wide, and wide range platforms it supports both mobile and computer. Still despite this it still has its own drawbacks, especially when it comes to deleting messages or chat conversations you’ve had.
Although Skype allows you to delete your messages after 60 minutes or 1 hour, it becomes difficult and officially impossible (per individual basis) when that time frame elapse, so how do I delete my conversation on Skype on my Windows 8 PC?
There are a number of ways to do this, but the best, simple and easy way is to clear your history, clearing your Skype history clears all the messages and chat conversation you’ve had with all your contacts. The downside of this is you’re probably going to delete a lot more messages than you’d like to, but if what you want to do is just to delete the whole thing, and have a clean slate then this tutorial is for you.

Steps to delete conversation on Window 8
1. Log in to your Skype account in window 8 PC
2. Click on Tools > Options > Privacy > “Clear History” button.
This option allows you to delete all previous chat conversation including IM, SMS, file transfers, video with all your chat contacts on Windows 8, this only removes the chat history from your end at not your contact’s device. In case you want to delete your chat messages from everywhere including all your chat partners’ devices, you can use third-party apps.
Alternatively you can use this shortcut method, Skype >> Win C >> Settings >> Options >> Clear History.
To do this just open your Skype app then press Win and C together on your key board your windows sidebar will open then go to settings, there you’ll see option on the top click option, your Skype option window will open you’ll then see the option to clear history. Clear your history and you’re done.
Note: Deleting your Skype history on Windows 8, does not automatically delete your chat partners’ history nor your previous messages you sent or received. But if you’ll like to delete it from your chat partner’s end then you’ll need to use third party applications or softwares. If you’ll like me to recommend some, indicate by commenting.
